Luke is a London-based trumpet player who performs regularly around the world, and enjoys a diverse career performing & recording many genres of music.

    From a modern jazz quartet to a swinging big band, to recording funk, pop, soul and beyond, Luke can often be heard on the TV & Radio, and has performed at venues such as Buckingham Palace, Cadogan Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, and many more.

Creatively he is inspired by musical luminaries such as Woody Shaw, Clifford Brown, Ahmad Jamal, Michael Brecker and McCoy Tyner.

As a bandleader, Luke is a very active composer, and leads his own Octet and Big Band performing his original compositions and arrangements. He also runs a project playing the music of the joint Woody Shaw and Freddie Hubbard Sextet albums.

Luke also has a recording studio from which he has recorded remote sessions for various adverts, TV shows, video games, artists’ albums and much more.

In 2013 Luke joined the Jazz course at the Junior Royal Academy of Music in London, where he studied every Saturday for the rest of his time in school. In 2016 at the age of 18, Luke started studying for his Batchelor of Music degree at the Royal Academy of Music, learning from and playing with many of the best musicians in the UK and across the world - highlights from his time at RAM include playing lead trumpet for Dave Holland and Chris Potter with the RAM Big Band, plus having lessons with some of the very best jazz trumpeters in the world including Ingrid Jensen, Alex Sipiagin & Jason Palmer. Luke was also a member of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, performing with NYJO from 2016-2020 and appearing as a soloist on 2 albums recorded by the band.

Luke graduated with a BMus with First Class Honours from the Royal Academy of Music in 2020. He also qualified with the Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music teaching diploma in 2021.

Luke quickly made a name for himself in the professional London Jazz world, and by the age of 26 Luke has given notable performances such as the BBC Proms, Glastonbury Festival, Cadogan Hall, a fanfare for the Lord Mayor of London, plus many other festivals including Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Lucerne Festival, Brecon Jazz Festival , Love Supreme, London Jazz Festival and many more.
